iFi

iFi is a brand new line of electronics with trickle-down technology licensed from AMR and aimed primarily at the future, Computer Audio generation. iFi products boast Class A analogue circuitry with no DSP and the signal stays ‘Bit Perfect’ throughout.

How a product looks and performs matters, but so does its impact on the environment. That’s why nearly every iFi product and its packaging are made from highly recyclable materials like aluminum, paper, recycled plastic and why we refuse to use harmful toxins in our components. We do this to ensure that every product we release meets our environmental standards.

Other DACS use just one Burr-Brown Bit-Perfect chip. The Pro iDSD has four, making it the only ‘Quad-Stack’ DAC on the market.

But what really sets it apart is that it comes with:

  • Wireless playback
  • Built-in Spotify and Tidal
  • Upsampling to DSD1024

Table of Contents

This is ground-breaking technology at its finest. There’s simply nothing like it.

The gang of four - a quad “stack” of Bit-Perfect DSD and DXD DACs by Burr-Brown.

The “interleaved” configuration means that up to eight pairs of differential signals can be used and mixed - four pairs of signals per channel.

The new XMOS XU216 X-Core 200 Series 16-Core processor has a maximum of 2,000 MIPS (two billion instructions per second) calculation power in dual-issue mode as a USB interface.

All-digital processing is Bit-Perfect, without employing ASRC or up-sampling unless digital filters are explicitly selected.

It can decode signals from all Inputs, from USB (up to 768kHz/DSD512), AES/EBU or S/PDIF (up to 192kHz/24Bit) and Wifi/Network/Mass-storage (up to 192kHz/32Bit).

A first! The Pro iDSD brings Studio Grade DSD1024 to a wider audience.

For the DSD1024, if the MultiBit DAC is one half of the ‘heart’ of the Pro iDSD’s digital engine, then the other half is surely the Crysopeia FPGA.

This is where we believe FPGA excels, by handling the remastering duties to attain the DSD1024 audio format.

In fact, the Pro iDSD can handle all audio formats to to DSD1024 or DSD512 or PCM 768kHz with user-selectable digital filters.

For all inputs data is sent to the Memory Buffer.

Here it is de-jittered to eliminate any transmission of source jitter to the DAC output.

The data from the Memory Buffer is further re-clocked by with the low-jitter Global Master Timing® clock, which also drives the X-Core 200 and FPGA.

Firstly, we use the best tubes - General Electric 5670.

Second and just as important is the circuit design.

Unlike other amplifiers that have the same circuit and just switch in/out the tube section, the Pro iDSD is the very first of its kind that has two individual input circuits – one tube and one Solid-State.

This results in the best sonics of both worlds because the signal path is the shortest and there is no compromise to ‘shoe horn’ the tubes into an already existing solid-state circuit.

Multi-talented!

The Pro iDSD can directly link to a router for online music play.

With LINKPLAY™ WiFi/network playback, built-in Spotify and Tidal, and wide protocol support for 32-Bit/192kHz and DSD64, the Pro iDSD can directly link to a router for online music play.

The amplifer audio circuit is fully discrete, fully-balanced with either tube or J-FET input switchable, bipolar second stage and MOSFET-buffered bipolar class A Power stage.

The resulting circuit may be best described as a ‘tri-brid’ where each device is used to greatest sonic advantage while minimising any drawbacks.

Furthermore, the circuit is pure DC coupled to avoid using any sonically-degrading coupling capacitors.

The Pro iDSD has a premium Japan Alps motorised rotary volume potentiometer.

This is the ‘6-Track’ version with 4 tracks used for a true balanced volume control.

This is the litmus test for any amplifier to see if it is truly balanced or operates internally in single-ended mode.

Those using ‘2-Track’ volume controls may offer balanced in and out but are not true balanced designs. The Pro iDSD however is fully-balanced from beginning to end.

Just like its sibling the Pro iCAN.

To maximise dynamic performance, especially with bass, the analogue stage is backed by audio-grade ELNA Silmic Capacitors located within a few millimetres of the audio circuitry supplied.

Elna Silmics are used in the final stages of the main DC bus which is filtered using multiple stages of inductor/capacitor filters.

While other consider them 'boutique' components, we consider them 'must haves' to achieve the best sound quality.

All incoming DC is converted to a high-frequency waveform then rectified and filtered by a choke input capacitor filter. This produces a first-level DC bus from which all further voltages are derived. The circuit also generates a galvanically-isolated power supply voltage for the USB input circuitry.

The digital section is powered by a bank of Super Capacitors totaling 6.6 Farad (6,600,000uF). iFi uses Elna Dynacap DZ (TM) Super capacitors because they have a 400 times lower internal impedance than common grades of super capacitors. Individual low-noise TI LDO Regulators with local LC filtering provide the final low-noise power for all individual digital sections, a total of six individual regulators cover Clock, SPDIF Input and the DAC’s digital section. For the analogue stage (especially the tubes) higher voltages are needed.

The whole stage effectively operates on a 60V rail offering massive potential dynamic range.

  • Micro - iDSD BL Signature

Our top-of-the-range desktop/transportable DAC and headphone amp will supercharge your tunes.

Based around two Burr-Brown DAC chips in a custom ‘interleaved’ configuration, the digital engine has four pairs of differential signals – two pairs per channel. This means a lower noise floor improved channel separation finer musical detail and micro-dynamics

The micro iDSD Signature handles up to PCM 768, DSD 512, 2xDXD and MQA.

All this is done natively. Both PCM and DSD remain ‘bit-perfect’. Extensive jitter-eradication technologies are applied to the digital engine, including iFi’s GMT (Global Master Timing) femto-precision clock and the intelligent memory buffer.

The micro iDSD Signature also comes with iFi’s GTO (Gibbs Transient Optimized) digital filter installed. And exclusive firmware available on our website means you can change digital filters as you wish.

With up to 4100mW of power the micro iDSD Signature can drive all manner of headphones with aplomb, from highly sensitive in-ear monitors to current hungry planar headphones. The signal path has been refined to maximise sonic texture. High spec components featuring class-leading qualities such as low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance), high stability and low distortion mean top-notch sound quality and maximum musical enjoyment.

Add in the direct-coupled nature of the circuit – no coupling capacitor is present – and the micro iDSD Signature definitely runs rings around the competition. The digital stage of the micro iDSD Signature features a variety of filter settings: ‘Standard’, ‘Minimum Phase’ and ‘Bit-Perfect’ for PCM files ‘Standard Bandwidth’, ‘Extended Bandwidth’ and ‘Extreme Band width’ for DSD

The amp stage also has three settings to adjust power and gain. As well as ‘Normal’, you get ‘Turbo’ to ramp up the level of drive for current-hungry headphones ‘Eco’ to dial down the power to suit high-sensitivity in-ear monitors and/or to extend battery life

Complete this with our iEMatch technology that adjusts output level and our XBass+ and 3D+ signature sonic tweaks, and the micro iDSD Signature is flexible to the max. The micro iDSD Signature features two digital audio inputs – USB Type-A and an S/PDIF socket that accepts both electrical, via a 3.5mm connector, and optical signals – adapter supplied. It also houses a pair of RCA analogue outputs to connect to a pair of powered speakers or a power amp and passive speakers, to act as a DAC and preamplifier.

There is a 6.3mm output for headphones that have a standard single-ended connector (headphones with a 3.5mm jack can be connected using an adapter) and a 4.4mm Pentaconn output for headphones offering balanced connection. Both headphone outputs utilise our ‘S-Balanced’ output circuitry. This delivers the sonic benefits of balanced connections with all headphone/earphone types – even those with single-ended connectors – cutting crosstalk and associated distortion in half.

  • Micro – iDSD BL

The iFi micro iDSD Black Label is the newest iFi micro flagship product.

At the heart, beats the Burr-Brown DSD512/PCM768/2xDXD True Native® DAC with headphone amplifier.

The Black Label looks very good on the outside yet the inside is even better where relentless attention has been paid to advancing the sonics with the very latest components:

    • DAC digital signal and digital power sections upgraded
    • AMR Global Master Timing® femto-precision clock system upgraded for ‘super low’ phase-noise/jitter
    • Analogue signal and power sections revised
    • 3D+® performance-tuned / XBass+® performance-tuned
    • Latest Output stabilisation network offers less distortion

The micro iDSD Black Label. The best, evolved.

    The High-Res heart remains – DSD512/PCM768/DXD2x
The micro iDSD BL retains the unrivalled technical capabilities of its predecessor. This means it is capable of true native playback of all music formats from MP3 all the way up to 512DSD/768PCM/2xDXD.
    Burr-Brown Chipset x 2
The Burr-Brown DAC chip used was one of the last chipsets from BB Japan (though it was introduced post-merger). This chipset was Burr-Brown’s ‘swansong’ and embodied all their converter technology. It is unrivalled in terms of subjective musicality and is a mainstay of the iFi line including the micro iDSD Black Label and is used in the upcoming showstopper, the Pro iDSD.
    3D+® and XBass+®
The latest iterations of 3D+ and XBass+ are appreciated technologies that further enhance the enjoyment of music. With a larger soundstage and deeper, tighter bass respectively, both are even more engaging and satisfying than ever.
    Operationsverstärker

iFi/AMR ‘OV’ series stands for ‘Operationsverstärker’ (German for Operational Amplifier). The ‘OV’ range IC’s use HCOFC copper lead-frames and 4N Gold bond-wire which are streets ahead of mainstream commercial chips that use inexpensive aluminum bond-wire, low-grade/low-cost copper in the lead-frames.

  • Micro-iTube 2

The micro iTube2 is a tubed output stage, tube preamp, tube buffer AND an impedance-matching device all in one. There is nothing like it. You can put the micro iTube2 before a solid-state preamp and another one after it, creating the effect of tubing the whole audio chain. Or you can choose to simply use the micro iTube2 as a very high-quality preamp by itself.

The micro iTube2 sounds by and far, like a tube amplifier ‘done right with the inimitable magic of tubes.‘ Tonality and heft, especially in the mid-range and bass frequencies are increased to elevate the whole audio chain – regardless of whether it’s a $1k or $100k system. The micro iTube2 injects a serious does of tube magic into any audio system.

The micro iTube2 is a tubed output stage, preamp, buffer and impedance matching device rolled into one.

The micro iTube2 separates and emphasises each vocal and instrument. It adds warmth, removes harshness and kicks your speakers into action.

But there’s more… The micro iTube2 is loaded with the latest technology, including:

    • X-Bass+ – To clean up and restore a rich, deeper bass line
    • 3D+ – To recreate live stage
    • atmosphere

    The micro iTUBE2 rocks… Why?

Because you can listen in three key sonic signatures:

    • Single-Ended Triode
    • Push-Pull Tube
    • Classic Tube

In other words, it replaces flat recording with studio-quality sound.

Only the best tube for our products. The GE5670 made by General Electric. Nothing comes close for quality.

  • Micro Diablo

    Devilishly brilliant

The iDSD Diablo, with its sleek new design and fiery red finish, sits proudly at the top of our range of portable/transportable DAC/amps. It is built for purists – the true headphone enthusiasts who crave pure, unadulterated sonic performance.

Just like a racing car designed for uncompromising speed, the iDSD Diablo sets aside sonic tailoring as well as Bluetooth connectivity to focus on pure sonic power. Prepare for a riveting ride as it will drive any headphone on the planet with aplomb.

Put simply, the iDSD Diablo is our best ever transportable amplifier designed to deliver reference level sound.

    ‘Bit-perfectly’ wicked

We use two Burr-Brown DAC chips and the new 16-core XMOS chip to process the data received via the USB and S/PDIF digital inputs.

This means the iDSD Diablo can handle up to PCM 768, DSD 512, 2xDXD. Both PCM and DSD remain ‘bit-perfect’.

It also provides full MQA decoding! Check out our MQA set-up tutorial (using the highly acclaimed NEO) for Tidal, Roon and Audirvana here.

And with MQA now available over S/PDIF, you can take advantage of any MQA CDs in your collection.

    Positively pure

Balanced, differential analogue circuit design reduces noise and cross-talk within the signal path by fully separating the left and right channels. The iDSD Diablo benefits from further refinements to our balanced, symmetrical dual-mono topologies with short, direct signal paths. We call this PureWave.

Negative feedback is used in amplifier circuits to compare the output signal with the input signal and correct errors. BUT there are drawbacks. iFi turns the negatives into positives with OptimaLoop.

    Diabolically dynamic

Able to drive all manner of headphones with ease, the iDSD Diablo delivers up to 5000mW of prodigious power, propulsive energy and engaging dynamics, coupled with a remarkable ability to resolve fine texture and detail.

With 3 settings, you can adjust power and gain to suit your daily driver or track day supercar!

    • Turbo – ramps up the level of drive for current-hungry headphones
    • Normal – for most over or on ear headphones
    • Eco – dials down the power to suit high-sensitivity in-ear monitors

    Power that does not corrupt.

The iDSD Diablo’s focus on pure, unadulterated performance, means much attention has been applied to the power supply circuity.

Battery power provides ultra-clean and stable DC current avoiding the issues of mains electricity – dips, spikes and noise-inducing RFI/EMI pollution. BUT there are sonic downsides resulting from low output voltage and inconsistent output impedance as batteries discharge.

These issues are fully tackled by the iDSD Diablo’s design.

In order to make less efficient headphones, like planar magnetics, sing, the voltage needs to be stepped up from 3.7V to +/- 15V.  We use a step-up converter running at 1.2MHz – a frequency far beyond audibility that is easier to filter than a typical switch-mode supply, enabling high linearity and ultra-low noise.

    Formula 1, iFi style.

High-bandwidth power supply circuity is dedicated to each critical part of the iDSD Diablo’s design, with independent linear regulation delivering excellent PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio) performance.

The headphone amp stage eschews IC regulators in favour of Panasonic OS-CON capacitors, delivering 2320uF between them.

The DAC section benefits from an ultra-low-noise regulator with additional passive filtering, reducing high order harmonic distortion and, in turn, jitter.

Even the USB input stage benefits from dedicated regulation and multi-stage filtering, and the microprocessor control circuitry (often a local source of digital noise) has separate regulation, too.

    Accessories galore

As befits a reference-level product, we’ve included a whole host of accessories in a luxurious travel case.

As the iDSD Diablo may be powered from the mains, as well as by its built-in battery, we’ve included our super silent, noise-cancelling iPower 5V AC/DC adapter to ensure optimal sound quality.

Also included is a 4.4mm Pentaconn to twin XLR balanced interconnect cable to connect the iDSD Diablo to an amp and speakers (or a pair of active speakers) with balanced XLR inputs.

We’ve also added a short (15cm) USB-C to USB-A audio cable, as well as an extension cable plus a USB-C charging cable and an adapter to connect headphones with a 3.5mm jack to the 6.3mm single-ended output.

  • Nano iDSD BL

    Power your headphones. Big style.

With  maximum output power (32R) around 10 times that of iPhone 6 (285mW vs. 27mW), the nano iDSD Black Label can drive most headphones on the market.

From In-Ear-Monitors to mid-size headphones, the nano iDSD BL is able to drive them with ease. Below is more background information on the S-Balanced circuit and iEMatch/Normal outputs. We just dont do standard. Take your headphones to the max.

    Uber convenient
It’s small, lightweight and battery powered. You can take the nano iDSD Black Label everywhere you go and it won’t drain your phone’s battery.Just switch on the BL first and then plug in your device. The Lithium Polymer battery gives the nano iDSD Black Label up to 10 hours of non-stop musical enjoyment. It also has a special USB male ‘A’ connector for a direct connection. Use a USB-to-Lightning (Apple) or OTG connector (Android). Or if at home, just use the enclosed USB3.0 cable to connect to a PC. Stream Apple Music/Google Play/Spotify/Tidal/Youtube content from your phone to a whole other level of quality. Add kick-a** sound to your gaming by connecting your console or computer.

    Master Quality Authenticated
iFi always strives to bring you choice. We’ve added yet another file format to our portfolio in the form of MQA in the new BL. Take TIDAL or your MQA file to a whole new level.MQA is an audio technology developed by Bob Stuart. This technology makes hi-res audio streaming a reality and delivers studio master quality audio to your headphones.

An original Master file of up to 384kHz/24Bit which has been encoded in MQA, is transmitted as a 48 kHz/24Bit file. At the end of the chain, whether the decoding and rendering takes place in the same device, or whether the process is split between a software application and a separate DAC, the result will still yield the full, original 384kHz/24BIt file.

For mobile DACs with both portability and power considerations, MQA Rendering is the ideal solution as the workload is shared between the host (computer) and the client (DAC). In this case, for a DAC such as the nano iDSD BL, less CPU processing and lower electrical power are needed. This approach for the iFi portable range remains a full end-to-end MQA solution and the listener still enjoys the full benefits of MQA without compromise.

We are committed to working with MQA to bring MQA support (be it as Renderer or joint Decoder and Renderer where appropriate) to as many iFi products, including existing products, as possible to our customers.

    High-Res Audio Certified

The nano iDSD Black Label is one of the best native highest-resolution DACs you can find, supporting PCM up to 32/384 kHz and DSD up to 256 times the sample rate of a CD, even on Mac OSX* and mobile phones*.

  • iPhono 3 BL (+iPowerX)

With a stunning, super-low 85dB noise floor (per Stereophile standard) the iPhono3 Black Label is out there. One of the quietest phono stages. Period.

Like any good phono stage, it amplifies the signal, not the noise. The whisper-quiet noise floor is there for any home audio system to discern. Take it for a test drive from the comfort of your favourite listening chair.

recise EQ curve and explosive 108dB dynamic range. Your listening room becomes a concert hall.

The AMR PH-77, the $12,000 larger sibling with 23 equalisation curves, remains the vinyl benchmark to this day. Trickle-down tech used in the iPhono3 Black Label means it features the 6 most popular stereo EQ curves.

Try the infamous 1812 Overture ‘torture test’. Won’t be the same again. The iPhono3 Black Label will have you trying ‘just one more LP’ into the wee, small hours.

Your pickup (stylus) has been lovingly crafted. Whether it’s MM or MC, no two cartridges are identical in performance.

The iPhono3 Black Label, like the AMR PH-77 from which it descends, enables you to set the precise load/gain for the cartridge you have. Squeeze every last drop of performance out of your precious pickup.

Visit our iPhono Calculator to assist.

Beneath the modest footprint of the iPhono 3 Black Label are Class A TubeState and DirectDrive Servoless technologies. Specially developed by AMR for iFi audio.

All underpinned by some quite special audiophile components from Burr-Brown, TDK and Nichicon. To name but a few.

With such dedicated circuitry and devoted components, it has a whisper-quiet noise floor and measured THD of an incredible <0.005%.

Our Class A TubeState® technology is the result of nearly four decades of research of our Chief Designer, Thorsten Loesch, on tube and transistor gear.

The key is not to add distortion, but to avoid certain types of distortion. Once it is understood that specific distortions are endemic to solid-state circuitry and are pernicious with respect to subjective sound quality, we eliminate these from solid-state circuitry, without adding on tube-like distortion and noise.

Direct Drive Servoless® is an important element of the audiophile experience, which is not visible in measurements but is quite audible.

    iFi audio iPhone 3 BL

     X-Men

The iPhono3 Black Label is special. It should be powered by something special.

It comes with the iPower X, the very latest in power supply technology.

    iPhono3 Black Label + iPower X = Super Duo.

Unlike a standard phono stage design, the iPhono3 Black Label continues the special design tradition of being direct coupled (i.e. no coupling capacitor) from cartridge to output and it does so without requiring a conventional DC servo.

  • Aurora

    French design.
    Japanese inspiration.

Our designer, Julien Haziza, drew inspiration from Japanese industrial designers and architecture – namely Shigeru Ban, Tadao Ando and the Omotesandō and Harajuku districts in Tokyo.

Clad in bamboo and elevated by a distinctive aluminium frame, the Aurora’s design is striking. It mimics the grand scale of Japanese architecture – crisp, clean lines intertwined with a hint of vintage. Very fitting for the tour de force that is the Aurora.

    Music amplified by emotion

Aurora is driven by PureEmotion®, an ingenious fusion of amp technologies – brand new and original to iFi.

It delivers a sound that combines purity of tone with a high level of engagement, speed and dynamic gusto, ensuring the emotive quality of music is delivered in full effect – which is why we call it PureEmotion®.

    Analogue. Authentic.

Many audio products use digital signal processing (DSP) to deliver a big, spacious sound from a single box. This is an artificial, lossy process that detracts from the sound quality.

The clever technologies in the Aurora (and all iFI products), avoid this completely as they operate in the analogue domain.

SoundSpace® delivers a room-filling sound and gives music a sense of scale and space you wouldn’t expect from an all-in-one system.

TrueBass® delivers genuine bass with depth and definition. Everything from timpani to a bass guitar is conveyed with power and poise.

No space too big or small

With Auto Room Tailoring (ART)®, the Aurora can auto-configure the speaker array according to its position in the room.

The effect is similar to the adjustments made by a sound engineer at a live venue.

And what makes ART® special is that it’s executed in the analogue domain. Forget tinny and imagine deep, voluminous sound that captivates you.

    Barnstorming Bluetooth

Aurora uses Bluetooth5.0® — the very latest version with the newest Qualcomm 5100 series chipset. There’s also the super-smooth ESS Sabre DAC chip.

All current and future Bluetooth® audio formats are supported including aptX and aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX Adaptive, LDAC and HWA/LHDC, hi-res Bluetooth® codecs created by Sony and Huawei respectively. Also, we have  Apple’s favoured format, AAC.

  • NEO iDSD

The NEO iDSD is our new 3-in-one DAC/amp. With balanced ‘PureWave’ circuitry, unbeatable hi-res Bluetooth5.0 and MQA, it is the ultimate in hi-res playback.

Place it horizontally or vertically to suit its surroundings. The OLED display flips to match orientation. One rotary knob controls functionality. Sleek, sophisticated and versatile. Enjoy the NEO iDSD as a pure DAC. Connect it to a separate integrated amp or preamp using the fixed-level analogue output.

Or treat it as a DAC/preamp with a variable output. The ideal companion to a power amp or active speakers. And headphone users will love using the excellent amp stage to create a fabulous ‘head-fi’ system.

The Burr-Brown DAC chipset still fuels the NEO‘s ‘digital engine’. But we’ve souped it up with a new 16-core, XMOS microcontroller that processes the data via USB and S/PDIF digital inputs. Double the clock-speed. Four times the memory. Add in jitter eradication including our GMT femto-precision clock, intelligent memory buffer and our GTO filter as standard, and you’ve got one heck of a super DAC.

The NEO iDSD supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz, DSD up to 512 and DXDx2. All remain ‘bit-perfect’. The NEO provides full MQA decoding to ensure the best possible sound quality. Check out our MQA set-up tutorial for Tidal, Roon and Audirvana here. Plus with MQA over S/PDIF, take advantage of any MQA CDs in your collection.

iFi uses Qualcomm’s new QCC5100 Bluetooth processing IC. All current high-definition Bluetooth audio formats are supported – aptx, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX LL, LDAC, HWA/LHDC, AAC and SBC. The NEO iDSD ‘remembers’ up to 7 devices and has impressive range on Bluetooth5.0.

Not only is the NEO iDSD a purist design – no DSP, no digital filter selection and no change in analogue playback – it is also all designed around a balanced circuit design named ‘PureWave‘. Read more below. It uses audiophile-grade components and delivers sonic ‘purity’ thanks to the extraordinarily low levels of noise and distortion.

The headphone amp stage maintains an engaging balance between sonic power and poise – no matter what it is tasked to drive. From high-sensitivity in-ear monitors to current-hungry planar headphones, it drives them with aplomb.

It has a continuous power output of over 1000mW into 32ohms available through the balanced headphone socket. Plenty of oomph for headphone user.

The NEO iDSD contains top-notch audio components to back-up the outstanding balanced circuit design. Scroll down for more. Even the

OLED SilentLine display is engineered to ensure there is no electrical noise to interfere with the audio signal as it switches itself off when not in use. Quality components mean more clarity and texture, a more engaging performance. You just hear more of the music.

  • ZEN-DAC V2

We’ve upgraded its digital engine from an 8 core XMOS chip to a 16 core chip. It’s ultra-capable while still being super-affordable.

Compact enough to use as a USB DAC/amp on your work desk and stylish enough to use at home with your favourite active speakers or amp, it delivers a level of specification and performance that punches above its super-affordable price tag.

The ZEN DAC V2 supports PCM and DXD to 32-bit/384kHz, DSD256 and MQA. DSD remains ‘bit-perfect’ thanks to the True Native Burr-Brown chip design.

    Cute, compact and stylish
This superb hi-res USB DAC/headphone amp delivers a level of specification and performance that punches above its super-affordable price tag.

Compact enough to use as a USB DAC/amp on your work desk with your much-loved headphones.

Stylish enough to use in your home system as a USB DAC. Just add your favourite active speakers or amp.

    16 core = hardcore.

Thanks to the 16 core tech, the ZEN DAC V2 is now an MQA Decoder rather than a Renderer only.

This enables you to play back MQA audio files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording. The LED glows green or blue to indicate that the unit is decoding and playing an MQA stream or file, and denotes provenance to ensure that the sound is identical to that of the source material. It glows blue to indicate it is playing an MQA Studio file, which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has been verified by the copyright owner.

MQA rendering technology (used in the original ZEN DAC among other iFi products) connects to an MQA Core signal (such as TIDAL) and completes the final unfold of an MQA file. Usually, the computer has carried out the decoding.

    DAC to the future

The ZEN DAC supports PCM and DXD to 32-bit/384kHz, DSD256 and MQA. DSD remains ‘bit-perfect’ thanks to the True Native Burr Brown chip design.

Our R&D maxes out the circuitry with bespoke, easy to install firmware to bring you the joyous musicality of hi-res. The ethereal music quality will leave you grinning ear to ear.

    Ace of Bass.

The ZEN DAC boasts TrueBass. This proprietary tech is a switchable ‘bass boost’ operating in the analogue domain. There’s no DSP with iFi gear. TrueBass enhances the bass but does not muddy the mid-range. Perfect for use with IEMs or open-back headphones which often lose out on bass. So, in the words of the great Eric Clapton and from the film Back to the Future, Heaven is One Step Away.

MQA is an award-winning audio technology that enables music fans to stream the original master recording into their home, car or on their mobile. In the words of Gilbert O’Sullivan, iconic Irish-born singer-songwriter, “The great thing about MQA is that it delivers the finesse that was there in the desk sound. It’s tremendous, it sounds really good.”

MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is supported through the USB with full decoding of MQA files up to 384kHz thanks to the processing power of the new 16-core XMOS chip.

Check out how to set up your MQA decoder via Tidal, Roon and Audirvana here.

This means that the full ‘three unfold’ decoding process is performed internally, as opposed to only the final unfold in the manner of an MQA ‘renderer’.

Globally, MQA has become an important consideration for any comprehensively equipped DAC. It is available through for Tidal Masters, Audirvana and Roon.

Set to ‘Variable,’ use the ZEN DAC as a pre-amp to feed a power amp or active speakers.

On ‘Fixed’ to bypass the volume control. Connect to an external pre-amp or integrated amp.

    Power. Drive. Performance.
Our headphone amp has PowerMatch – switchable gain to perfectly match your headphones.

IEMs are high-sensitivity, Leave PowerMatch at its lower setting for hiss-free listening.

On/over-ear types with relatively low impedance require more oomph – press PowerMatch to increase the level of drive.

Banish standard ‘Bluetooth Blues’ with the iFi hi-res implementation.

    Enjoy. Your way.
Chill with the best of both worlds.

Analogue – connect via RCA to amps or active speakers or via the 4.4mm output to amps/speakers with a balanced input.

Digital – use the optical and coaxial connections to connect to anything with a built-in DAC and corresponding digital input; your TV, an AV amp or an external DAC in your hi-fi set-up.

    Balanced design is special indeed.
The analogue output stage is balanced, not normally seen in DACs at this price point. Balanced means less noise interference/crosstalk. This equals more ZEN in our book.

Discrete ESS Sabre Hyperstream DAC chipset with time domain jitter eliminator, discrete oscillator and 112dB dynamic range for discerning listeners.

A key advantage of the ESS Sabre DAC chip is its Hyperstream architecture with integrated Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, which delivers vanishingly low distortion and a high dynamic range.

It has RCA and balanced outputs at HiFi standard level; 2V SE and 4V BAL and thus is compatible with both HiFi and Pro systems.

All underpinned by high-quality circuit components such as C0G capacitors from TDK. All fed by a precision low-noise power supply from Texas Instruments to make this a rare entry-priced beastie.

  • ZEN-CAN

52x more power. Pump up the volume. Laptops and smartphones have a really low power output of <1.0v. On a good set of headphones you’re always running out of juice. You never get to really hear what they can do. Use a laptop, phone or DAC to feed your music to the ZEN CAN and connect your headphones. Pumping out 52x more power, now you’ll hear what you have been missing.

ZEN CAN — the ultra-affordable headphone amp from iFi audio

    Balanced to thrill

The ZEN CAN has trickle-down Class A discrete balanced circuitry from iFi audio’s US$1,699 flagship Pro iCAN. With 15.1v @300 Ohms on tap, it has serious power that will make even difficult-to-drive headphones thump to the beat.

    • Class A discrete output buffer from the flagship Pro iCAN using Op-Amp (OV2637A)
    • FET input avoids loading volume control – low distortion/noise
    • SE inputs (1M Ohm) ensures loading of the source so always in Class A operation
    • Output amplifier gain of four steps in +6dB perfect for headphone matching

Puts you at the venue. Not other way round. Audio recordings are made for speakers and when played back on headphones, the sound is always driving you nuts by being only in your head. Our 3D special sound circuit solves this: Stereo image that is truly out of your head, in front with height, width & depth Without colouration or loss of resolution All analogue circuitry (i.e. without costly and complex digital signal manipulation)

Ace of XBass Behind XBass is our active EQ circuit which meets a common gripe with headphones head-on, a lack of bass. Open-back headphones in particular, let all frequencies (especially those precious bass frequencies that the drivers generate so little of) leak freely out of the back instead of trapping and redirecting them back to your ears. XBass equalisation is a much more elegant solution to bass correction than seen elsewhere. It consists of active and passive components and its frequency response curve corrects their low-end response problems with precision.

Class A Discrete is a circuit that has come straight out of the iFi’s flagship headphone amplifier, the Pro iCAN, which at £1,699 is 11 times the price of the ZEN CAN

  • ZEN-Phono

Mil-spec RIAA The EQ circuit uses multiple TDK C0G capacitors in parallel. This is for best stability and the least distortion. They beat polystyrene capacitors and are close to Teflon.

Already using the lowest tolerance capacitors combined with multiples in parallel, tolerance is exponentially improved by the square root of the number of capacitors.

This is quite a natty circuit design. The RIAA EQ tolerance level (+/- 0.15dB) is impressive as it is en par with hand-selected capacitors!

Spec’d to make you smile Unlike any other entry-level phono stage.

    The ZEN Phono has:

    • MM/MC from 36dB >72dB gain.
    • Super-silent noise floor -151dBV
    • Precise RIAA with Balanced output, performance comparable to +$1k phono stages
    • AI sub-sonic filter. Addresses warp without eliminating bass or causing phase issues

    Gain settings

    • MC (v lo) 72dB (+/- 1dB)
    • MC (lo) 60dB (+/- 1dB)
    • MC (hi) 48dB (+/- 1dB)
    • MM 36dB (+/- 1dB)

    Input impedance

    • MM: 47K Ohms
    • MC High: 47K Ohms
    • MC Low: 1.4K Ohms
    • MC V Low: 110 Ohms

    EIN (equivalent input noise):

    0.6nV|/Hz (unweighted) MC lo/vlo

    • -151dBV (A weighted)
    • -141dBV (unweighted)

    6.5nV|/Hz (unweighted) MM/MC hi

    • -130dBV (A weighted)
    • -119dBV (unweighted)

With MM/MC, high/low and very low, the ZEN Phono is able to handle just about any cartridge. From 36dB all the way up to 72dB. So as your vinyl system grows over time, the ZEN Phono will always keep up.

  • ZEN-DAC Signature

Our specialist desktop DAC, ZEN DAC Signature V2, has been upgraded to bring you an even purer performance than the original.

    Pure and (not so) simple.

Enveloped in the Space Blue finish now associated with our Signature products, the ZEN DAC Signature has been designed to be a DAC, pure and simple.

Without the built-in headphone amp, its sole purpose is to feed an external amp, be it a headphone amp, or an amp and speakers.

Its simplified circuitry provides the opportunity to upgrade the signal path and critical components within it. The existing ZEN DAC introduced the benefits of fully balanced circuit design but the ZEN DAC Signature further ups the ante with its enhanced true-differential balanced topology.

ZEN DAC Signature V2 from iFi audio

    Balanced. Blissfully quiet.

The ZEN DAC Signature V2 incorporates boutique parts and circuitry inspired by the £3,000 iFi Pro range.

It sports a fully-symmetrical, true differential balanced dual-mono signal stage with direct signal paths to ensure optimal signal purity.

The new low jitter crystal clock means >20dB better noise reduction. The ZEN DAC Signature V2 will remain quiet wherever it’s used.

Outstanding components including C0G capacitors from TDK, Panasonic OS-CON and ELNA Slimic II capacitors complete the design.

ZEN DAC Signature V2 from iFi audio

    A ‘Bit’ special…

The ZEN DAC Signature V2’s digital stage retains its True Native DAC architecture. It delivers Bit-Perfect up to 32-bit/384kHz and native DSD up to DSD256 as well as DXD.

The iFi-programmed XMOS chip, which processes data received at the USB input, and jitter-eradicating, audiophile-grade oscillators, contribute to exemplary handling of digital audio signals as they are received, processed and converted to analogue form.

    16 core means more…

MQA an award-winning British technology that delivers the sound of the original master recording.

Thanks to the processing power of the new 16 core XMOS chip, the ZEN DAC Signature V2 is now a full MQA decoder.

The ZEN DAC Signature V2 includes MQA technology, which enables you to play back MQA audio files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording.

ZEN Signature Set HFM from iFi audio

    Confident connections

You can trust in accurate, jitter free data transfer from your source device. The USB Type B input is asynchronous, meaning that the data rate is regulated solely by the ZEN DAC Signature V2’s specialised, and now upgraded, audio clock circuitry.

A pair of RCA sockets provide a single-ended connection to an amp and a Pentaconn 4.4mm output enables balanced signal transfer between compact products that cannot accommodate traditional, bulky XLR connections.

    Fixed or variable. You decide.

The outputs of the ZEN DAC Signature V2 can be switched between ‘variable’ and ‘fixed’.

Variable – use this setting if you wish the ZEN DAC Signature V2 to control the volume of powered speakers or its volume as a preamp.

Fixed  – this option is for when you use it with downstream equipment with its own volume control. This will bypass the ZEN DAC Signature V2 as if there was a ‘straight wire’ from the digital source to the analogue amplifier.

The Burr-Brown True Native® chipset means file formats remain unchanged or ‘bit-perfect’. This means you are listening to music as the artist intended in the format in which it was recorded.

At iFi we use Burr Brown extensively in our products having selected it for its natural-sounding ‘musicality’ and True Native architecture. Our experience with this IC means we know how to make the most of it.

  • ZEN-CAN Signature

ZEN CAN Signature 6XX from iFi audio

The ZEN CAN Signature 6XX analogue headphone amplifier takes sonic tailoring to the next level with ActivEQ.

    Level-up

The original ZEN CAN, our all-analogue headphone amplifier, boasted the ability to drive tough headphone loads, a balanced circuit design, vanishingly low levels of distortion and versatile sonic tailoring.

The ZEN CAN Signature 6XX takes this to another level. It further improves the sound quality with enhanced circuit design, whilst maintaining the versatile features of the ‘regular’ version and adding something special – a custom EQ setting precisely tailored across the entire frequency response curve to make the most of a popular headphone model.

    ActivEQ

This new feature, called ActivEQ, combines active and passive components to create a specific EQ curve to suit a particular pair of headphones, performed in the analogue domain without a hint of additional noise or distortion.

The ZEN CAN Signature 6XX, features ActivEQ for the ‘MassDrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX’ – a popular pair of high-quality headphones with more than 120,000 sold to date, based on the Sennheiser HD 650 and created exclusively for Drop.com.

These headphones are renowned for the quality of their midrange performance but exhibit some quirks in the bass and treble regions, which can be seen in frequency response measurements.

    EQ. Activated.

When the ‘HD 6XX’ button is pressed, the ZEN CAN Signature 6XX calibrates its signal to complement the headphone’s response characteristics right across the frequency range, thus tailoring its performance to precisely fit the HD 6XX like a made-to-measure suit.

What’s more, the benefits of this ActivEQ curve are equally applicable to the Sennheiser HD 650, which shares the same characteristics. It also has an effect on other Sennheiser models – take a look here.

This feature can be switched on or off. Without ActivEQ engaged, the ZEN CAN Signature 6XX’s performance is adroitly balanced to make the most of all manner of headphones and in-ear monitors.

    No pain, no gain.

Not in the case of the ZEN CAN Signature 6XX. It features four gain settings in six dB steps – 0dB, 6dB, 12dB and 18db.

This enables the amp to precisely suit the connected headphones. Unity gain (0dB) is useful to ensure low noise with sensitive in-ear monitors, while the higher gain settings make the most of tougher headphone loads, delivering excellent dynamic headroom.

    XSpace

This analogue processing mode compensates for the ‘in-head localisation’ effect that can occur when using headphones to listen to music that was mixed using a pair of speakers.

It widens the headphone soundstage to deliver a more spacious and speaker-like experience.

    Balance of power

The ZEN CAN Signature 6XX’s circuitry is a balanced, symmetrical dual-mono design – a topology usually reserved for high-end headphone amps – with a number of key elements trickled down from the discrete Class A circuitry developed for iFi’s flagship headphone amplifier, the Pro iCAN.

Key components have been upgraded to enhance performance in line with the improvements made to the ZEN CAN Signature 6XX, including the use of Panasonic OS-CON and Elna Silmic II capacitors.

    Driving force

The amp offers prodigious drive capability, delivering 1600mW (7.2V) into 32 ohms from the single-ended output, with 15V+ available to loads of 300 ohms or more through the balanced output, ensuring it takes even current-hungry planar headphones in its stride.

Delivering ultra-low distortion, rich sonic detail, engaging dynamics and the ability to drive all manner of headphones with ease, the ZEN CAN Signature 6XX is a truly a driving force to be reckoned with.

    Stay connected

The ZEN CAN Signature 6XX offers stereo RCA and 3.5mm single-ended inputs, plus a balanced 4.4mm Pentaconn input. A 4.4mm balanced output is also provided, to connect to power amps equipped with a balanced input.

It provides a pair of headphone outputs – a 6.3mm output for headphones that have a standard single-ended connector (compatible with all headphones) and a 4.4mm Pentaconn balanced output for headphones offering balanced connection.

An increasing number of high-quality headphones and in-ear monitors either come so equipped or give the option of detaching the cable and upgrading to a 4.4mm Pentaconn connector, and this output makes the most of them (it is particularly recommended for high-impedance headphones).

    iFi’s ActivEQ

Our ActivEQ feature combines active and passive components to create a specific EQ curve to suit a particular pair of headphones. This is performed in the analogue domain without adding any additional noise or distortion.

The ZEN CAN Signature HFM features an ActivEQ finely tuned towards HIFIMAN’s planar headphones.

HIFIMAN headphones offer remarkable transparency and present wide-open sound staging. The ZEN CAN Signature HFM enhances the texture of the deep bass and injects more immediacy into the upper mid-range.

    One EQ. Many models.

Pressing the HFM button on theZEN CAN Signature HFMcalibrates its signal to complement the headphone’s response characteristics right across the frequency range. This then tunes its performance to work withHIFIMANheadphones.

Excellent results are found with the Sundara, HE-4XX, HE-400S, Edition X, HE-5 headphones to name but a few. Take a look at ourHIFIMAN Curve and Compatibilitychart.

As with our previous ZEN CAN Signature model, this feature can be switched on or off. WithoutActivEQengaged, theZEN CAN Signature HFM’sperformance is cleverly balanced to bring out the best in all other headphones and in-ear monitors.

    ignature tailoring by iFi

ZEN CAN Signature 6XX from iFi audio

In particular, the 7kHz treble and bass below 500Hz is gently elevated.

ZEN CAN Signature 6XX from iFi audio

    No pain, just gain.

The ZEN CAN Signature 6XX features four gain settings in six dB steps – 0dB, 6dB, 12dB and 18db.

This enables the amp to precisely suit the connected headphones. Unity gain (0dB) is useful to ensure low noise with sensitive in-ear monitors, while the higher gain settings make the most of tougher headphone loads, delivering excellent dynamic headroom.

  • iPower

When is a plug no ordinary plug? When it’s an iFi iPower.

Use an iPower to replace your regular power supply for clean, noise pollution free power.

    iFi audio iPower Plug

The iPower use Active Noise Cancellation+ to cancel all incoming EMI or RFI noise.

It is at least 10x quieter than previous iFi power adapters, 20x quieter than audiophile linear power supplies and 1000x quieter than standard SMPS wall adapters.

  • iPower X

Pure silence. Clean power to the maX.

With crème de la crème components and tech, the iFi iPower X deep cleans the background noise created in your mains power. Can now be used with a wider variety of equipment.

    Silence. Personified.

The original iFi iPower provides an effective, clean power solution for noise in your system.

But why not push your power upgrade to the max with the all-new iFi iPower X?

    Active cancellation

Based on military tech, our improved Active Noise Cancellation II®  actively cancels all incoming noise.

It does this in a similar way to active noise-cancelling headphones – it generates a signal identical to that of the incoming electrical noise but in the opposite phase, actively cancelling it out. This is highly effective at removing low- and mid-frequency noise, while passive insulating filters deal with higher frequency interference. This combination is measurably more effective at eradicating noise corrupting the USB signal than devices relying solely on passive filtering.

It reduces the noise floor by > 40dB (> 100x).

This is what the iPower X does to your power supply.

    Improved capacitance

As usual with iFi, every new design means not only improving how it looks on the outside but more importantly, how it functions on the inside.

The input capacitance is now 50% larger and the output capacitance is 150% larger when compared to the original iPower.

In practical terms, this gives you more filtration, improved dynamics and unsurpassed sound quality.

    Crème de la crème components

We’re using the latest solid organic capacitors for better suppression of high-frequency noise. And the leakage capacitance is some 20x lower than your normal SMPS!

In a nutshell, there is no escape for unwanted noise!

All in all, the iPower X will give you 20% more power than the original iFi iPower and increased amperage which means it can work with more equipment than ever before.

    Powering flagships.

Expensive equipment typically ship with generic power supplies. This is like putting supermarket fuel in a Ferrari. It deserves the best but isn’t getting it.

The generic SMPS power supply (PS) is very noisy.  Many upgraded audiophile linear PS are better, but still have huge noise at the rectification frequencies and at multiples 50Hz, 100Hz, 150Hz (or 60, 120, 180 for 60Hz countries) etc.

The iPower Elite was designed to deliver the smooth and silent power. It gives your streamer/DAC/amplifier all the silent, clean power of a battery with none of the hassle.

Based on military tech, our improved Active Noise Cancellation II®  actively cancels all incoming noise.

  • Powerstation

Our audiophile extension block brings super quiet mains power to your system.

Whatever your set-up, digital, analogue or both, the PowerStation will ensure your system receives super quiet mains.

PowerStation by iFi audio — extension block with in-built active noise cancellation

    Power to the people

The iFi PowerStation is for everyone who likes their audio interference free.

It comes in 4 variatons – UK, EU and AU with 6 individual sockets and USA/JAPAN with 8.

Put a stop to RFI or EMI noise and enjoy pain-free audio – all from one solid, snazzy dark anodised aluminium power block.

This is an active not a passive product. As can be seen from the graph, it cancels far more noise across the frequency range than a passive product.

Active filtration is MUCH better in the lower frequencies, at -40dB. Passive filtration is only truly effective in the very top-end of the frequency range.

Discover more about passive v active filtration and noise contamination here.

    Ready, steady, go.

The PowerStation uses iFi’s Active Noise Cancelation II to ACTIVELY eliminates noise across the frequency range, even across the lower frequencies.

Each outlet has added passive filters to also eradicate noise from the very highest frequencies.

    Nothing left to chance…

Each outlet is independently isolated in its own chamber to prevent cross-contamination, with the addition of vibration-damping EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate).

We use PurCopper – a form of 99.9999 per cent pure OFHC (oxygen-free high-conductivity) continuous-cast copper – for its superior conductivity.

    Gives you the earth…

The PowerStation has inbuilt earth/ground and polarity detection.

No earth/ground can lead to annoying buzzes and hums – the scourge of audio.

We’ve added a 4mm banana socket to the PowerStation so a grounding cable can be used to create a ground/earth when one isn’t present.

    Bingo, the sound is gone.

    …but keeps you grounded

And the PowerStation is smart. The supplementary ground/earth connection will NOT introduce a ground loop EVEN if the system is already earthed.

More than one earth would also create a ground loop leading to more buzzing and humming and we don’t want that.

    Fiercely protective

Polarity detection is vital if you don’t want to hamper the quality of your audio mains. With the PowerStation, this is built-in.

And never fear, max. 30,000A @ 1,000V/10uS surge protection is also here. If it detects a power surge or a mains short, the PowerStation will shut down, protecting your downstream equipment from peril.

Our Wireless Purification System (WPS) is a complex circuit that reduces power line noise without audible or measured side-effects.

This is important because other solutions while attempting to curb noise, also hamper dynamics.

  • DC Blocker

The amplifier is the heart of your system.

If you have a mechanical hum, deploy the DC Blocker.

    DC Blocker from iFi audio

Got big amplifier. Bye bye mechanical hum.

Many large amplifiers have a really annoying mechanical hum (emitted from the toroidal transformer itself).

You can hear it when you place your ear close or next to the chassis.

This is caused by a small amount of DC voltage in the mains which makes its way through to the mains transformer, it will become ‘saturated’ and start to hum like a trooper.

The DC Blocker is a clever device that you place at the IEC (at the rear power inlet) and as its name implies, it stops DC from getting into the amplifier. It therefore eliminates amplifier transformer hum.

    DC Blocker from iFi audio

    Cute. Clever.

All the benefits of cutting out annoying hum with no drawbacks.

    • Intelligently stops any DC voltage from the mains to eliminate transformer hum
    • EMI shielding is retained
    • Equipment safety is unaffected
    • The bigger the amplifier, usually, the larger the toroidal which is susceptible to residual DC voltage. JUst add the DC Blocker at the IEC to stop DC from getting in.

      • 90-240V
      • Maximum rating >10A, continuous current rating 7A
      • Small size, universal application, won’t block any other connectors, sockets, or cable

  • GND Defender

    GND control.

    Take out speaker hum.

    GND Defender from iFi audio

    Ground control to Major components.

The optimum configuration for each system is one Ground/Earth for the whole system. If a system has multiple Grounds/Earths, then it often creates unwanted ground loops. These systems will then have an annoying low-frequency hum (emitted from the speakers).

Current solutions either jeopardise (i) both safety and EMI shielding (e.g. cheater plug), or (ii) EMI shielding. And most are single country (US) uses only.

The GND Defender in the correct way, intelligently detects a ground loop and will cut the ground for that component.

    AI ground detection.

With a GND Defender at the IEC power input, it will intelligently detect and remove the ground loop at the component.

    Behind this, the GND Defender:

    • Intelligently breaks DC ground loops to eliminate ground loop hum
    • EMI shielding is retained
    • Equipment Safety is unaffected (not a ground lift – so maintains equipment safety ground)

If multiple ground loops exist, more than one GND Defender may be required.

The GND Defender is smarter than the average ground lift. By a long way.

Surge overload rating of 220A. With a maximum rating >10A, continuous current rating 7A, it handles all voltages around the world from 90-240V.

  • NOVA Power Cable

Nova Power Cable by iFi audio

    High-end construction & performance.

The Nova power cable delivers a serious upgrade over standard mains. It imbues sound with greater clarity, space and definition.

    The sound of SilentPower.

We have made a number of ‘clean power’ products in our nine-year history to date, but one thing we haven’t made is a specialist IEC power cable for home audio components – until now!

The Nova is a specialised power cable with a high-end construction that belies its affordable price point. It delivers a serious upgrade over standard mains leads that imbues sound with greater clarity, space and definition.

    The cable.

The Nova incorporates five conductors, each made from heavy-gauge, continuous-cast OFHC (Oxygen-Free High Thermal Conductivity) copper, arranged in a geometrically balanced configuration – highly unusual at such a price point.

Two pairs of live and neutral conductors are arranged either side of the earth conductor, which is positioned at the centre of the cable. A further pair of air-dielectric delineators – essentially polymer matrix tubes filled with air – are arranged either side of the earth conductor, keeping the two pairs of live and neutral conductors apart whilst improving the cable’s overall dielectric performance and constructive solidity.

The cable is finished with a tough yet flexible polymer outer sheath and iFi’s bespoke audiophile-grade connectors, complete with 24ct gold plated oxygen-free copper conductors.

    Ground Zero

As already mentioned, the Nova incorporates five conductors, each made from heavy-gauge, continuous-cast OFHC (Oxygen-Free High Thermal Conductivity) copper, arranged in a geometrically balanced configuration.

Two pairs of live and neutral conductors are arranged either side of the earth conductor, which is positioned at the centre of the cable. The ground conductor is arranged in a shotgun configuration and not twisted around like other mains cables. The live and neutral conductors are arranged in a truly balanced configuration, hence their magnetic fields cancel each other out perfectly.

As a result, there is no residual magnetic field being applied to the centre ground conductor, and no unwanted induced voltage on the Ground conductor – we call this design Ground Zero.

SupaNova Power Cable by iFi audio

    Power conditioning activated!

The SupaNova takes the Nova and adds a cylindrical housing partway down its length. This contains our proprietary Active Noise Cancellation II technology.

ANC II actively eliminates far more noise across the frequency range than a passive product, even across the lower frequencies. We use inverse noise current to cancel out the noise in the mains signal. The way this works is comparable to the technology in noise-cancelling headphones.

    The SupaNova also includes:

    • Our Wireless Purification System to significantly reduce power-line noise without audible or visible side-effects
    • A Ground/Earth connection diagnostic
    • Polarity detection to ensure correct polarity at all times
    • Over-voltage Surge Protection, an auto-detection and cut-off circuit to protect your equipment

Most power-conditioning products engage passive noise reduction through a selection of filters and regulators. While this can be effective, it has inherent disadvantages. Passive noise reduction systems are effective at the top end of the frequency spectrum but often less so at lower frequencies. In addition, passive systems need large capacitors to be truly effective, which make the best such products bulky and expensive.

iFi’s active system uses inverse noise current to cancel out the noise in the mains signal. Noise in the mains supply occurs at different frequencies, depending on the cause. Active Noise Cancellation II technology enables a power-conditioning device that is highly effective at reducing noise consistently across the entire frequency spectrum yet sufficiently compact and lightweight to position within the mains cable itself.

The Over-voltage Surge Protection (OSP) is an auto detection and cut-off circuit.

Should it detect an excessive power surge or short in the mains electricity it will automatically cut off. If this issue persists, it will not reboot and will protect your equipment from harm.

It is effective to max. 30,000A @ 1,000V/10uS.

Our Wireless Purification System (WPS) is a complex circuit that reduces power line noise without audible or measured side-effects.

This is important because other solutions while attempting to curb noise, also hamper dynamics.

Our Intelligent Ground is a smart diagnostic tool. It will only actively provide an earth/ground connection if your system needs one. It will NOT create a ground loop if the system is already earthed/grounded.

  • SPDIF Purifier 2

The SPDIF iPurifier plugs into your SPDIF port and solves audio issues instantly.

Vocals and instruments on songs are separated, TV and movie audio becomes bigger.

Solution to SPDIF splutters S/PDIF is the main digital audio output signal for devices such as Apple TVs, PS5, Xbox and 8K Smart TVs.

Mainstream devices that output an S/PDIF signal typically suffer from really low-quality transmission due to huge amounts of jitter. Read: terrible sound quality.

The SPDIF iPurifier2 solves spdif splutters.

The brand-new SPDIF2 is bang up-to-date with features that lower jitter, lower jitter and lower jitter.

    The SPDIF iPurifier includes:

    • Super-fast 10Mhz Global Master Timing femto clock
    • Tantalum 100uF capacitors x 4; better power supply ripple
    • Improved MCU firmware; better performance optimisation
    • Galvanic-isolation,
    • gold-plated EMI/RFI shielding and
    • iPower (5v) via USB-C all underpin the phenomenal performance of the enlarged unit.

The signal goes through 4 comprehensive stages, and the result is a fully-restored, perfect SPDIF with jitter eliminated. The result is sound quality that has greater warmth, resolution and dynamic contrast.

AMR/iFi prides itself on assuring Bit-Perfect signal transfer. This means the signal remains original and unchanged. This device ensures a Bit-Perfect transfer which is highly unusual for S/PDIF devices. It can handle 44.1 / 48 / 88.2 / 96 / 176.4 / 192kHz; 16 to 24 Bit, DSD/DoP, and even Dolby Digital and DTS.

AMR’s Global Master Timing (GMT)/ Memory Buffer System represents a total ‘out of the box’ systematic digital solution that solves the digital S/PDIF jitter once and for all. The Intelligent Memory System holds a large number of complete audio samples, so it may completely absorb a large amount of variation (jitter and drift) in the incoming signal, while still sending out data at a fixed and precise clock rate, regardless of variations in the incoming clock.

  • Gemini3.0

Super speed. The USB3.0's ultra-speed bandwidth of 5.0Gbps offers an incredibly wide bandwidth, ten times that of USB2.0's 480Mbps.

As with the original Gemini cable, in the Gemini3.0 the power cable is heavier gauge and audio has more cores.

Furthermore, signal and ground have their own respective geometry for optimal conductivity.

With generic mass-produced USB cables, the data and power cables are normally packed together. This means that they do not conduct as well as they should and they are not sufficiently shielded from each other. This has a negative impact on USB signal integrity and degrades sound quality.

Our quadruple shielding fully separates and protects the delicate USB data signal from the power. This protects the cable from RFI and EMI noise to provide the cleanest transfer medium possible.

Most USB cables use moulded plastic covered connections that do not shield the high frequencies present in the USB data link. Noise radiates out. Durability is compromised as few manufacturers make their own final connectors.

The FINAL USB connectors provide impeccable end-to-end RF shielding, being machined entirely from solid, aircraft-grade aluminium.

Plus gold-plated connections make for years of steadfast service.

Most standard USB cables do not address RF issues and are fitted with filters that work over too narrow a range and are only fitted at the ends of the cables, leaving the length of the cable to act as an antennae.

iFi's three custom-made metal oxide ceramic filters have a different effective range to broaden the range over which RF noise is silenced. The middle silencer is adjustable and can be moved along the whole length of the cable. This then “detunes” the antennae formed by the cable. The other two silencers should be kept as close to each respective end as possible.

  • Mercury3.0

Generic USB cables make listening a total wipe-out. The Mercury3.0 clears the waters and makes you want to ride the audio sound wave again and again.

And for the ultimate audio experience, couple it with the iGalvanic3.0 or micro USB3.0.

    The Mercury3.0 has:

    • USB3.0 – For supersonic audio speed
    • RF3 Custom Noise Silencers – For effective silencing

These add texture to music and create a faster, smoother audio experience.

  • iRack

Let the pictures do this justice. What better way to put it all together!

Easy… it’s made with some pretty neat stuff, including:

    • Non-magnetic stainless steel pillars
    • Micro vibration control
    • Resonance-dampened organic glass shelves
    • Natural rubber ‘O’ rings for sound dampening
    • Precision-machined spikes with matching cups

They help cut down vibration and reverb to provide an even smoother musical experience.

Solid stainless-steel with natural rubber O-rings for aesthetics and damping.

Solid-stainless steel for timeless looks and minimum resonance.

The O-rings protect the columns and the iFi component from coming into contact with each other.

Copper RCA cable system. The iRack Premium ships with a cable pure copper loom for wiring the “Ultimate Big Rig”.

The RCA cable loom ships with 1 pair of RCA pure copper interconnects (length: 43cm) and 2 pairs of RCA pure copper interconnects (length: 20cm). There is also a ribbon 3.5mm > 3.5mm cable for connection to the headphone output of a smart device.
