-PRIMARE A30.5 POWER AMPLIFIER – Product Description
A fundamental component of high quality sound reproduction, whether it is movie sound or music, is amplifier power. The explosive energy of an action soundtrack or the finely detailed complexion of the human voice must be reproduced with authenticity. This is a test of quality for any amplifier, especially in home theatre, where five channels of sound require identical resources. Each of the channels within the Primare A30.5 provides incredible current delivery at an outstanding level of quality. Each has its own transformer and power supply, making it identical to the four other amplifiers, but also electronically independent. By taking this meticulous approach, Primare has endowed the Primare A30.5 with optimum stability and channel separation, giving a cleaner, clearer, more accurately defined sound.
The Primare A30.5’s generously specified heat sink ensures excellent heat dissipation, creating the best possible conditions for perfect performance year after year. For operational convenience, Primare A30.5’s intelligent stand-by switch can be controlled from the Primare SP31.7 processor and the system remote control.
- The Primare A30.5 offers the concentrated power of five identical mono amplification channels housed in a single enclosure.
- It provides masses of energy at an outstanding level of quality, reproducing the explosive energy of an action soundtrack and the detailed complexion of a human voice with the same authenticity.
- The Primare A30.5 is a heavyweight in surround sound amplification, however compact and typically Primare to look at, a perfect balance of style and performance to complement the Primare DVD26 or Primare DVD 30 players.
- The input stage of each channel consists of a single FET transistor and the output of four Toshiba power transistors.
- The heat sinks are massive to keep the temperature at moderate level even at the most difficult working conditions.
- The Primare A30.5’s intelligent stand-by switch can be controlled from the Primare processors and the system remote control.

WEAKNESS:Makes it damn hot inside in the summer! Open your windows hehe 🙂
This is a rocking amp with lots of power! 5×125 watts, and allmost twice as much in 4 ohms. Be sure to warm it up for at least one hour to get maximal joyment to your listening. Togheter with my Primare P30 sorround processor this is one for the books. It also looks like a million $ and in the winter you don’t need to burn wood or heat up with a electric owen. This one gets SO WARM it heats your hole house! 🙂

[Sep 30, 2000]Peter LAudio EnthusiastSTRENGTH:Lost of power in all channels. Powerful low end. Very good chassis and connectors. Detachable powercord. Clean sound.
I’ve had this one since january this year(2000) and it replaced my Adcom GFA-7000. The big difference is the deep low end that is more powerful than the Adcom. Also all the channels have the same amount of power=you get more detailes and sound from all your speakers. Clean sound without anything added is a way to describe the sound. Build very sturdy with good connectors of metal and 12 V remote on/off input. Very low noisefloor and little hum from the transformer. At 120 W/8 ohm 200 W/4 ohm theres plenty of power but not one of the most powerful amps. But it does output more power than the Adcom GFA-7000, and it’s rated at 130 W/8 ohm but not as much in 4 ohms so maybe there lies the answer to that. It’s made in Sweden and the price is ok for an amp of this level.
